soul steeped in wonder
by Michelle Villanueva

ducks once dwelled among

this cool water as you once

lived among these paths

gardens were your wonder then

tilling the soothing balm

for your time scraped soul

dandelion seeds the fairies

scatter relentless blessings

clothed in tiny yellow suns

unaware this field

held still greater gifts than these

when you whispered forth lilacs

yet it must warm your wide heart

knowing flowers still abide here

petals beckon in the breeze
