The Trials and Tribulations of Champions
by Robert Allen Beckvall

Take it as a point of pride

I care enough to get out my elephant gun

I care to practice and clean it and prepare for your possible savagery

Or, maybe I’ll aim so true it will explode your heart and stop you dead in your tracks

Because, there are times where I just played and felt nothing

But, it is those rare and wonderful times that champions realize ----

It is never the catch ---

It is the chase and pursuit of excellence ----

Usually between myself and I ----

If you care to step up and step in and step on the court of champions

Then, your excellency, you are part of the equation

I salute you
