Bullies on the rampage
by our Media Correspondent Potato O'Couch.
In the UK we may have differing views on the BBC and its
editorial policy but what we are all agreed upon is that we don't want some
foreign tosspot threatening to kill it just because he doesn't like something
that's been broadcast here. What would Americans say if Kier Starmer threatened
to close down ABC because they said something rude about him? They'd laugh him
out of town!
The BBC is ours, not the plaything of international
power-brokers who seek only to agrandise themselves at the expense of anyone
who gainsays them. "Watch GB News" they said... playing into the hands of
right-wing Faragists and other swivel-eyed loonies.
BBC News' output annoys many people by spending far too much
time speculating about whay may, or may not, happen in a forthcoming election
of whatever - but in general it is a source to be relied upon for a true
picture of the world. Obviously it's a picture viewed from here in Britain and
it might look different from the one seen by a viewer on the other side of the
world. So be it. We all stand somewhere and I for one am very happy to be
standing here listening to intelligent radio programmes (yes, that's how we
spell it) and watching some great TV which is funded by me and the millions of
other licence payers.
The danger posed by the super-rich - I'm looking at you Elon -
and the super-powerful outwith these shores is ever present.
In true British style I just tell them to "shove it up their
arses"!
