Two Dawns
by Bill Diamond

Before dawn, the rocket surged skyward from the Cape

Its power offered the ability of young minds to reshape.

Awe in the faces of children reflected its sunrise glow.

It raced to the future in which they would grow.

Scratching figures in the damp sand,

Their small minds vast possibilities would demand.

The launch inspired in them new horizons to grope

While Sol rose adding its daily dose of hope.
