New poems by G David Schwartz

Walking Through The Marigold

I don’t know what they were
But I was surly told
I’d be better is and when
I stopped waking through the marigold
Step lively with a big strut
But avoid the bushes which will cut
You at the quick or at the knee
Anywhere where you will no see
Walk quickly thought the marigold
Don’t run or hide until your old
And do not look at photos
Or pastures where the marigold grows

Where Babies Come From

dedicated to David Letterman)

You know where babies come from
Both the girl and the boys
I know that some
Come from Illinois

I've Never Had A Purple Hat

I've never had a purple hat
And I never want to get one
The art of oblivion is
It just isn't that much fun

For Grandfather

I use to go to the grocery
For my aged grandfather
But as soon as I was married
I sincerely forgot how
