Around the Maypole
by Terry Brinkman

Vamp of her lips wet with Gin

Like a bird sitting beyond a cat’s cajole

Woeful lunatic control

Pale silent scent of flowers from her skin

Whistling bird sounds from her Violin

Cotton-Ball Barons on the Ski Patrol

Mocking twelve ghost women around the Maypole

Her cough balls of laughter after the win

The King’s desired plot

Over her shoulder wearing a Blindfold

Dancing alone, with a Robot

Gloaming gray soccer player is too old

Moon watchers sitting in a squat

She’s wearing rich silk stockings with a Centerfold
