Poems
by Diane Webster

Sound Then Sight

Sound of a helicopter –

I search the sky

and see a dove

take off

from a tree limb.

a line, (a short blue one)

Sharper Still

Frost outlines

the saw blade’s

rusted teeth

making it look

sharper.

a line, (a short blue one)

That Is The Question

A lone pigeon

perches

on the building’s

ledge.

To jump

or not to

jump?

a line, (a short blue one)

Feet Below

The flooding river makes

trees tip of the iceberg

as ducks fly farther

from shore to shore

over a canopy of snags

only feet, duck feet, below.

a line, (a blue one)
