Supererogatory

 

Superfluous communications often result in few sanguine understandings.

After all, difficult situations need limpid words, clear ideas, also some

Sort of shared meaning.

 

Rhetoric that’s not enjoined frequently acts hinky. Such suspicious toing

And froing constitutes dishonest trade. Verbal gorges might carry all

Manner of “news,” but they’re regularly egregious.

 

Shockingly bad pleonasm, that which was never required tends toward

The worst types of circumlocution. Gobbledygook that “sounds good”

Might merely be flashy verbosity, else dressed up blather.

 

Most times, balderdash poses as obstreperous hooey spewed by people

Thrilled by equivocations; they embrace platitudes when attempting

To make rubbish shine. It’s a pity that some folks seek to posture.

 

 

 

 

Chatoyancy

 

In a nondescript pothouse, a raving local, claiming

His barnstorming was merely for charity’s benefit,

Discovered a fellow drunk’s gleaming eyes. Those

Orbs were asteriated.

 

That other’s ocular amphiboles seemed ocelot, else

Leopard-like as they exudated brilliance & glowed

Akin to jasmine, moonflowers, tuberoses, tobacco,

All the while revealing needle-like crystals.

 

No inosilicate mineral ever deigned to appear in the

Sclera of upright persons, in goodwives’ peripatetic,

Spherical structures, in nurturing, helpful, balanced

Peoples’ outlets; their avenues reflect decency.

 

Other barflies, nonetheless, stood obdurate; the man

Was hung at noon. Even dead, his portals flickered.

It’s said such twinkling’s traceable thru realms that

Children sense in nightmares; silky lustre’s evil.

 

 

 

 

Fuliginous

 

Dusky, sooty environs typically herald event categories

That cull contrition else great fear. Ligamentous injury,

For instance, as represented by internal decapitation, is

Frequently fatal. The same, desmoid tumors that create

Mesentery ills, rehome hope in longevity.

 

Humanity’s alienation was planted in dismal corners. No

Supernal being fluttered Earthward while sin and shame

Populated comings & goings. Instead, feathery foulness,

Palpable depravity encircled pits where valor, otherwise,

Could have prospered.

 

These days, contrariwise, people manufacture their own

Miserable turnings. Iniquity’s not lacking among folks.

Too often, we push for self-approbation heedless of the

State our deeds create. Our wickedness’s lackluster, our

Complacence’s dull.
